Each of the 177 quilts featured in the traveling exhibit were created by volunteers, mostly from Virginia, who chose their favorite parks, their subject, and the way to interpret either the landscape, the flora, or the fauna. The tropical colors used for the Florida and Virgin Island quilts are so vivid.

The whimsical armadillos from the Everglades really tickle me. I love the rows of lace used to give dimension to their shells. I love how the artists used their imaginations.

The intricate quilting in the next quilt is terrific and gives movement to the water and sky.

The exhibit at the four Will County sites ends July 3rd. Go if you can.
