What do you know about our country’s great national parks?
The first? Yellowstone. Established in 1872 by a bill signed by Ulysses S. Grant.
How many? We now have fifty-nine parks plus many more national historical and heritage sites all under the supervision of the National Park Service.
The grandest? In 1919 the Grand Canyon fully recognized as a national park by Woodrow Wilson. It is the second most visited park with four million annual visitors.
Least visited? One of the least visited parks was established in 1931. Isle Royale National Park is the largest island in Lake Superior and includes 400 smaller islands within 4.5 miles of its shores.
Find out more about these wondrous places. Grand Canyon and Isle Royale National Parks are the settings of my first and second mystery novels, Rim to Rim and Wolf Pack. Enjoy the journey!
Lots of tremendous places to visit for sure!
