killer cover for ebookThank you to Jan Homolka for inviting me to meet with her group of book lovers to discuss  “Killer Serve – A Tennis Team Mystery.” I had a blast. The ladies found a lot of discussion topics in the book: homelessness, nursing, predators, and aging gracefully. They gave ideas for the future of my characters and I’m listening. They love Deputy Teig and hope Mark turns out to be a secret millionaire. Maybe, maybe.

Great group of women. Thanks, Jan.

Southwest Florida Romance Writers Conference

pexels-photo-348520.jpegWriting is writing. So, though I write mostly mysteries, I thoroughly enjoyed my day with the romance writers at the 2018 Hearts in the Sand Conference. Carla Neggers, author of more than seventy books was the headliner. Funny lady. We also learned a lot about marketing our novels from an expert, Shari Stauch. She was terrific.

I was the lucky winner of a huge basket of goodies including six books, candy,  snacks, and a bottle of wine. I’m all set for the weekend.

Conferences are great for networking and hanging out with other writers who think and talk like I do. One perky young girl flew in from California for the event and ended up winning second place in the writing contest. We will hear more from Caroline Clark in the future.

KILLER SERVE LAUNCH PARTY

After a year’s worth of writing and editing and designing, an author needs to celebrate! So we launched the new title, Killer Serve – A Tennis Team Mystery, with a party at Beggar’s Pizza in New Lenox. December, 2017.

Fort Myers Readers Fest – April 2017

The annual Readers Fest was a huge event with big crowds and top-named authors. Note the tennis ball pyramid. I gave away tennis balls as a come-on so people would stop and ask about my books. Always fun.

Buy Books as Christmas gifts!

My fellow mystery writers shared a table and even if we didn’t sell many books, we had a good time. I tried not to buy more than I sold….hard to do when there are so many great crafts on display.

Co-host on Cable TV

3614198297_f4595e07c4_mThe lovely Lydia Ponczak, author of mystery novels and host of NEWS AND VIEWS, invited
me to co-host her monthly cable show for September 2015. I had a great time, and she made sure I got a plug in for my latelevisiontest novel, Gator Bait.

Take a look at the video by clicking here. Kup a Joe

AC Variety filmed the episode at Kup A Joe Kafe in Frankfort where the restaurant owner showcased his menu and we got to taste his specialty entrees. Yummy! Lots of news bits from area events. Take a look.

Pickwick Society Tea Room – Frankfort’s Girls’ Night Out Meet the Author, August 20, 2014

The theme in the town’s monthly event was Cowgirls, so we donned our boots and bandanas and had a wonderful time. Over tea, scones, and other goodies served by shop owner, Cindy, we discuss my two novels and books in general. There were about thirty of us and it turned into quite a party.

Prestwick Book Discussion Group

The ladies read Rim To Rim and invited me to speak to them about the story. The event was held at Prestwick Country Club outside around the fire pit where we roasted mini-hot dogs and s’mores and toasted with wine.  We recreated a campfire setting and dressed for a hike to get in the mood to talk about my backpacking adventure to the Grand Canyon. Fun time!! Thanks, Margit.2014 May-June birds, book club 015
