Packi and Curtis, a neighborhood teen, arrive with donations, but are ignored until the camp is trashed by a gang of thugs. She is shocked by the threat to her young friend and the connection to the tennis court murder.

GATOR BAIT — The Paradise Palms women’s tennis team wants answers after they find the body of a flashy real estate developer floating in Gator Lake. Packi Walsh wheedles her way into the investigation by bribing a cranky deputy with homemade cookies. Her snooping uncovers real estate fraud, irate investors, an affair between a trophy wife and her tennis pro, and a connection between the friendly neighborhood pharmacist and the New Jersey mob.
Now someone tries to silence Packi by making her gator bait.
Packi Walsh is a widow and new to the Paradise Palms ladies’ tennis team, but that doesn’t stop her from leading the team in a quest to save their favorite alligator, Big Joe. Packi, a volunteer at the nature preserve, spots a body bobbing in the pond at the same time as Big Joe sees his next meal. Convinced of the gator’s innocence, Packi rallies her new tennis team, the fourth-grade science class, and the local motorcycle gang to campaign to save Big Joe’s hide.
The tennis team, Deputy Teig, and a homeless man try to keep the feisty sleuth safe, but the real killer stalks Packi as steadily as an alligator hunts its prey.

Jeanne – In today’s post you asked a question about romance. I agree that you don’t want to make the romance permanent this early, but if you like the character (and why else does he exist at all!) you should not turn him into a cad or kill him off. Instead, you have an opportunity to increase the suspense by having him back off the relationship, but maintain contact, for a mysterious reason. By not disclosing a reason, your female MC can puzzle this out and you can carry that into the next book.
hey jeanne meeks i had a very important question I’ve been struggling with the TOC on my ebook it won’t link them and i have a mac. i saw on a form that you have the step by step on your blog of how to link your chapters to the TOC. if you could email me back i would greatly appreciate it. I’m new to this ebook thing. so any help would be really great thank you
“Hi Anne, I just worked through the same or similar problem. Since I’m ready to e-publish my novel on Kindle, I need the TOC. However, the automatic TOC on Mac’s Pages retains the page numbers which are a no-no on Kindle. Kindle for Mac instructs you to type up the TOC manually and create the links from there. I just posted a step by step procedure on my blog. http://www.jeannemeeks.com. I tested the links and they work fine. Good luck”
Hello, I learned about your Wolf Pack novel from my Aunt, Connie Rosebrock Cappel, a high school classmate of yours. She recommended this book after I recently vacationed and backpack on Isle Royale with my family. I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense and mystery, and relived the scenery from my trip through your descriptive language…thank you!
Hello Rhonda,
I’m so glad you enjoyed reading Wolf Pack. I’m also pleased the story let you relive your vacation to Isle Royale. One hope of mine for the book was to bring the island alive for readers. I truly appreciate the feedback. PS: Your Aunt Connie is a great woman.

Thanks, Pat. I like that suggestion. I don’t want the romance to peak too soon.
