After researching emigration for my New France historical fiction novel, I am intrigued by immigration stories. This memoir by Christine Sadry caught my eye, because it is a story of a young girl made strong by adversity. She is a member of Gulf Coast Writer Association, and I’m proud to have her as our first Saturday Share author.
Christine Sadry’s powerful memoir, 13 Years Lost, has been awarded the Literary Titan Gold Book Award and has achieved finalist status in both the American Writing Awards and the Indies Today Awards. These distinguished accolades celebrate Sadry’s raw and inspiring story, which chronicles her journey from a childhood marked by devastating loss and isolation to an accomplished 31-year career at the United Nations and a life of personal healing and fulfillment.
13 Years Lost recounts Christine’s remarkable journey, beginning in a small village in Poland, where the untimely death of her mother shattered her world. After being adopted by a Polish American couple, she faced 13 years of abuse and hardship in the US. Despite these challenges, Christine’s resilience and determination allowed her to rise above her circumstances, reconnect with her roots, and build a successful career.
